This is the location of three basic Sciences Departments (eg. Anatomy, Physiology & Biochemistry) and Islamic & Pakistan Studies. These departments are required for teaching of 1st Professional MBBS & BDS. In addition to departmental facilities the Old Campus also has a library, two lecture halls, seminar room.



ii) New Campus at the permanent site, Block-M, North Nazimabad

The temporary site at new Campus was built in 1994 to facilitate the teaching of the 3rd and 4th year MBBS and 2nd & 3rd year BDS. This block contains Department of Community Medicine, Pharmacology, Pathology & Lecture halls.

The permanent site selected for the Karachi Medical & Dental College extends over an area of 10.4 acres. A modern complex has been designed to meet the future teaching requirements of an advanced institution having provisions for the Basic Medical Sciences, Dentistry, Library and an Administrative Block. There are four lecture halls, seminar rooms, auditorium, hostel, mosque and other facilities. First phase of this complex was completed in November ,1999.

Recently, Principal Secretariat, Administration, Accounts Section and Library have been shifted to the newly constructed first phase of the permanent building.

Dental OPD has also started functioning in the same block.

Phase II construction started in June, 2002 and is in full swing with the department of Pharmacology, Pathology, Anatomy and Physiology being constructed first. Estimated time of completion of phase II KMDC is June ,2004.
